The Elegance Coral — Catalaphyllia jardinei — is a favorite, and it should be easy for most reef keepers to enjoy. But for years it suffered from a rare syndrome, called ECS for Elegance Coral Syndrome that made keeping it a risky venture. Now it appears that the coral is making a bit of a comeback — especially those corals collected from Australia as opposed to Indonesia. In this Fincast, John visits with importer/wholesaler Kris Cline of Carolina Aquatics where he and Kris demonstrate how to select a healthy coral and some of the background and challenges presented by the elegance coral.
